A Sculptural Moment in Modern Living

At the highest level of residential construction, our role extends beyond building. We are entrusted with bringing extraordinary design visions to life. The most meaningful expressions of that work are found in moments like this where architecture, engineering, and craftsmanship converge to create something both technically ambitious and visually effortless, and ultimately worthy of being featured in Architectural Digest.

This sculptural staircase, envisioned by Kelly Behun Studio in collaboration with Blaze Makoid Architects, was conceived as a defining architectural gesture carved into the very structure of the home. We realized that vision required a thoughtful reimagining of the existing structure and a strategic engineered plan, including the careful removal and reinforcement of a substantial concrete shear wall, and the introduction of new foundational support to allow the staircase to float with precision and grace.

From there, our process became one of refinement and orchestration. Each cantilevered tread, each soft curve of plaster, and each integrated lighting detail was meticulously coordinated to achieve a seamless, continuous form. The geometry is complex, yet the experience is serene, an intentional balance that can only be achieved through rigorous planning, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to craft.

Our role is to unify these layers and to translate design intent into built reality with exacting precision. Through close coordination with the design and engineering teams, and through countless studies, mockups, and field adjustments, we ensure that every line, joint, and transition aligns with the original vision.

The result is a staircase that transcends function. It is a sculptural moment within the home and an embodiment of elevated living, where exquisite design is not only imagined, but flawlessly realized.
